Welcome to J. Bernardo Sánchez Photography portfolio and work point of sale. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them and creating this collection. Which is just a small sample of what I’m doing but I share it with pleasure and joy. It is not definitive and it will continue to grow and evolve, with new additions of themes and photos.
Photography is my way to share, with you, images of the wonderful creatures that coexist in the world with us; some of them we don’t see every day, either because their habitats are far away from us or getting smaller and smaller due to the growth of our settlements and cities or the over exploitation of the limited natural resources of our mother earth.
Since the last century, wild life habitats have been lost at alarming rates and this may lead to the extinction of a large number of species, if we do not take the necessary steps to prevent it. We are very fortunate to share this world with such a variety of plants and wild life, and it is our responsibility to create consciousness about the fragility of our ecosystems as well as to promote legislation to protect them; otherwise the day will come that we will remember many of our most beautiful creatures just by images from the past.
With this photo collection I’ll try to bring you closer to my subjects so you will learn to appreciate their beauty, to care and love them as much as I do.
My Photography intends to show the immense beauty of the world around us as viewed through my own eye and perspective, at times with a little twist just to embellish it or to create an interesting effect. All this, of course, through an artistic point of view.
One of my favorite causes is the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center which has a gallery of its own of which I have learned to admire their work. I have spent hours and hours there -- they do a terrific job rehabilitating injured birds as well as taking care of those unable to return to the wild. As the Center is always struggling for resources, a portion of the earnings from your purchase from the Wild Bird Center Gallery will be donated to that cause.
Through this site you will be able to order prints, framed enlargements, mugs, calendars, t-shirts and more, with which you can adorn your home and workplace or share as gifts.
